Since mother nature decided to drop a nice 8 inches of snow on us instead of the inch we originally suppose to get, I figured it would be a good time to finish this chunky lap blanket! It's so squishy and warm and it's olive! I mean, who doesn't love this color?!
I've been dying to make another blanket using the Bernat Blanket Yarn ever since I made a blanket for my husband with it, the blanket was a total fail but we won't get into that, haha. This yarn works up quick which is nice when making a blanket. I'm not sure about any of you but if a project is taking too long I lose interest, say I'll finish it later but never do..horrible, I know.
This pattern is definitely beginner friendly, you just need to know how to single crochet (sc) and half double crochet (hdc). You'll have a nice cozy blanket in no time.
So let's get started!
You'll need a 10.00 MM (N- 15) crochet hook, 3 skeins of Bernat Blanket Big Ball Yarn (I used the color Olive, but you can use any color you like), scissors and yarn needle.
You're going to start by chaining 72, hdc in the 3rd chain from hook and in every stitch across (70)
Rows 2-3: chain 2, turn, hdc in every stitch across (70)
Row 4: chain 1, turn, sc in every stitch across (70)
Rows 5-7: chain 2, turn, hdc in every stitch across (70)
Row 8: chain 1, turn, sc in every stitch across (70)
Rows 9 - 52: repeat rows 5-8 ( you'll be doing three rows of hdc then one row of sc, ending with a row of sc)
